A Collaborative Approach to Nutrition Care
Care is individualized, collaborative, and grounded in a non-diet framework. I work alongside therapists, physicians, and other providers to support nourishment, symptom management, and a sustainable relationship with food, while remaining within the scope of nutrition care and prioritizing coordinated treatment.
Body Respect
Nutrition care is grounded in body respect and weight-inclusive practice. Rather than pursuing weight manipulation or appearance-based goals, care focuses on supporting physiological needs, reducing harm from chronic dieting, and fostering safety and trust within the body.
Relationship with Food
Many clients present with disrupted relationships with food shaped by dieting, medical experiences, GI symptoms, or eating disorder behaviors. Nutrition care supports rebuilding trust with food, reducing food-related anxiety, and addressing patterns that may contribute to digestive distress, nutritional inadequacy, or rigidity around eating.
Non-diet Nutrition
A non-diet approach is used to support flexible, sustainable nourishment without prescriptive or restrictive rules. Care emphasizes adequacy and individualized nutrition strategies that can support digestion, energy, and overall functioning, while avoiding interventions that may exacerbate food anxiety.
